For a naturally creative individual such as myself, there is a natural resistance to considering finance to be a serious pursuit in a complex unfair world. The resistance to taking finance seriously is quite strong in one such as myself with family roots in colonial India. There needs to be a transition to thinking about the global economy as a delicate system that needs to be treated with loving care for the benefit of humanity rather than the system of oppression of colonial times modernised to subject people to oppression, exploitation and slavery. There is a delicate balance, a dance, through which the positive vision can meaningfully overcome this resistance. Past this resistance, we can look at the music of complex markets without being brought down by the negative aspects of the global financial markets and their impact. Then one can begin to appreciate the music of the markets.
